How much nicotine do you take in per day?
The nicotine strength depends on the product: it is printed on e-liquid bottles and pouch tins, and estimated for cigarettes. This tool turns that strength into a daily amount, and compares it to cigarettes to give it a sense of scale.

What this figure is, and is not
It is an estimate of the nicotine contained in what you consume, from the values you enter. It is not a measure of what your body actually absorbs — that depends on the device, the technique and the product — nor an indicator of dependence. For vaping and pouches the strength is written on the product. For cigarettes nothing is printed on the pack, so the tool starts from an order of magnitude you can adjust.
Formula: cigarettes: number per day × nicotine per cigarette. Vape: e-liquid strength (mg/mL) × daily volume (mL). Pouches: nicotine per pouch × number per day.
An indicative estimate, with no medical value. The default cigarette value (about 1 mg of nicotine per cigarette) is an editable order of magnitude [SOURCE À AJOUTER: value to confirm against an official source before release]. If in doubt about dependence or treatment, speak to a doctor or pharmacist.
FAQ
Where does the cigarette figure come from?
Packs no longer display a nicotine figure, and how much is absorbed varies between smokers. The tool therefore starts from an order of magnitude of about 1 mg per cigarette, which you can change. It is an estimate, not a figure specific to your brand.
Is this the nicotine my body actually absorbs?
No. It is the nicotine contained in what you consume, not the fraction actually absorbed, which depends on the device, the inhalation technique and the product. Treat the result as a reference point, never as a medical measurement.
Why compare to cigarettes?
Because a number of milligrams means little on its own. Expressing the nicotine from a vape or a pouch as a number of cigarettes makes the scale readable — as a guide, without claiming the two products are equivalent for health.
Is a high figure dangerous?
This tool makes no medical judgement and shows no threshold. If the figure concerns you, or in case of pregnancy, treatment or symptoms, a doctor or pharmacist is the right person to ask.
